What are “Grant Goodies”?

Grant Goodies is a curated list of handpicked funding opportunities designed for busy leaders who do not have the time or capacity to dig through endless databases. Each edition focuses on a specific area, such as arts, women, youth, or faith-based organizations, and gathers high-potential grants into one clear, easy-to-use resource.

Instead of feeling overwhelmed by hundreds of irrelevant opportunities, you get a focused shortlist that matches your mission, stage, and sector. This is perfect for nonprofits and for-profits that are not quite ready to hire a grant writer but still want a smart, strategic place to start. Grant Goodies saves you time, helps you discover opportunities you might otherwise miss, and gives you the confidence to take your next steps in funding with clarity and direction.

What’s the story behind the name?

Grant Goodies is more than a cute name; it is a tribute to my grandmother, Minnie Gooden, whose quiet generosity changed the trajectory of my life. She was a homemaker who never had the chance to attend school, yet she raised three girls, filled every room with her big laugh, and shined like a bright light in our family.

I spent my summers with her in Ohio, where she felt larger than life to me, a Christian woman who insisted we memorize Scripture; my verse was Psalm 100, and I still carry it in my heart today. When it was time for my mother to go to college, my grandmother pressed $20 into her hand and sent her off with faith and love. That simple act of sacrifice and belief is the spirit behind Grant Goodies: small but powerful gifts that help open doors.

Every curated Grant Goodies list is my way of passing on Minnie’s legacy, offering you carefully selected opportunities, wrapped in the same heart for family, faith, and future that she poured into us.
